About Jay Murthy

A close pattern of horizontal bands, varying in thickness like a waveform.

I spent time in my college workshop before I ever opened a design tool - cutting wood, welding steel, and casting aluminium. That’s where I learned to work within material constraints and what it actually takes to achieve a finished product: an understanding I bring to digital interfaces.

I then moved into UX consulting, where I worked in MNC teams, and later was part of a 4-person team building enterprise software. This contrast taught me the rhythm of product development: when to move fast and when to be deliberate.

Studying service design and interning at a VC gave me a business lens. Products sit inside larger systems of incentives, touchpoints, and business models - which is why I like to explore user research, market analysis, and GTM alongside design.

That’s also why I believe tangible things are making a comeback. Factories, machines, devices - but augmented by a software and services layer. That’s the intersection I want to operate in.

If any of this resonates, or you just want to bounce ideas around, I’d love to chat.
